The New Cart Storage Shed

Approval has now been received from Council for commencement of construction of the cart shed. This shed will be attached to the southern wall of the Pro Shop and extend some metres east of the shop. The building will consist of cladding over a steel framework. It will be constructed, clad, and painted to match in with the Pro Shop. The floor will consist of a concrete slab that will extend out into an apron on the eastern entry end of the building. A concrete path will join this apron and extend north past the locker room and around to the front of the Pro Shop. The existing gravel cart parking area at the front of the pro shop will be widened with concrete and the remaining area will be turfed to match in with the grassed area near the practice putting green. The old practice nets will be removed and re-built against the wall of the locker room. The concrete slab for the practice nets will be poured together with the floor of the cart shed, the apron and the connecting path. Although the eastern end of the cart shed will extend eastward past the end of the locker rooms, it will not be visible from the deck area. Mounding and the planting of shrubs and trees around the cart shed will also take place. As part of this construction, the two Cyprus trees will be removed. It is anticipated that in the near future, the path from the pro shop to the 18th green and wedding area will be upgraded with gardens and planting to improve this area.

This shed will house our fleet of 40 motorised golf carts and will allow the professional and his staff to rotate the carts, thereby extending their life.

The time table for this construction will be as follows:

  • Excavation of the site to commence on Monday 10 April 2017;
  • Concreting will commence following the excavation of the site and will be allowed to cure before construction of the shed commences on or about 15 May 2017;
  • The shed will be painted and hopefully the entire project will be finished around the 3rd week of June 2017.
